#dBAD = DONT BE A DICK

Welcome to the Americas LMU season 9 championship at Bongo Racing

Post race stewarding

will be in place so drive with the utmost respect for your fellow Warrior with a true Bongo #dBAD attitude

  • DL = Driver License Point with x3 accumulated DL = qualifying ban from the next race
  • TP = Time Penalty
  • Deliberately hitting another vehicle – Race ban from next race
  • Repetition of deliberately hitting another vehicle once the ban has lifted – Permanent ban from all future events
  • Stopping on a 'live' track that causes a collision – qualifying ban from next race + TP for any collision
  • Failure to hold brakes that causes an collision – 1 DL + TP for any collision
  • Unsafe rejoin causing a collision or forcing another vehicle from their line – 1 DL  + TP for any collision
  • Causing a collision whilst driving a severely damaged car (e.g. but not limited to missing wheel, missing wing, severe performance degradation)  – Qualifying ban from next race + 1DL + TP for any collision

Collision definition with post race time penalty:

 Minor - 10s

A collision with one other vehicle or forcing another vehicle from their line with or without a loss of control and or with minor damage, but both vehicles can continue to race

Major collision - 15s for one vehicle +15s for each other vehicle involved

As a minor collision but involves more than one vehicle or with one other vehicle but causes significant damage including but not limited to aero, suspension or wheel damage. The damaged vehicle may continue to race but handling and performance are compromised

Severe collision - 30s for one vehicle + 1 DL +30s + 1 DL for each other vehicle involved

As a Major collision with multiple vehicles with significant damage or race ending severe damage

  •  Any penalties that cannot be applied due to a DNF will be turned into a point reduction for that race as follows:
  • TP /5 x 2 (this equates to 2 pts per 5s of TP)

"Incident reports will only be accepted via SimGrid incident reporting. All stewarding reports must be submitted by 20:00hrs on the Thursday after the race

Where possible we will attempt to broadcast Stewarding meetings on the Bongo YT channel as soon after the race as is possible

All penalties applied at stewards discretion and subject to any driver appeals

Drivers have 48hrs from receipt of an awarded stewarding penalty to make an appeal otherwise the penalty will be upheld

Race results will then be finalized and published as soon as possible - unfortunately life can get in the way but we will make every attempt possible to get results published as soon as we can with notification posted in the Warriors Discord channel"

Over taking: Defending and Attacking – same class vehicles racing for position

  • The defending vehicle is allowed one move/change of position before the braking zone to defend a corner. Weaving and generally blocking the attacking car will be penalized
  • Changing your line in the braking zone is not allowed and will be considered as a blocking move
  • The attacking driver may attack the corner if their front wheels are alongside the defending vehicles rear wheels into the braking zone otherwise the attack will be deemed as a dive bomb and could be penalized accordingly. When negotiating the corner both drivers are required to leave racing room for each other
  • There should be no contact forcing the other driver from their line to retain position

Overtaking – different class and lapped blue flag vehicles

  • Being shown a blue flag does not entitle the faster vehicle to the corner or racing line. The above over taking rules still apply
  • It is the responsibility of the overtaking faster vehicle to make the move cleanly without forcing the slower vehicle being overtaken, from their racing line or the track.
  • Being shown a blue flag does not mean the overtaken vehicle should move from the racing line but they should facilitate and not fight the overtake within 1 lap of being shown the blue flag otherwise they will be deemed as blocking and penalized accordingly

Race admin advice; Patience
The overtaken vehicle should stay on their racing line and be predictable and facilitate the overtake by lifting the accelerator on a straight or after exiting a corner allowing the overtaking vehicle to pass safely. Whilst it is possible to drive deep into a corner giving up the inside line for the overtaking vehicle this usually involves braking later which could increase the risk of you losing control of your vehicle. Although your intentions are good if you cause a collision you will be penalized

Do not rely on the other driver and allow for different closing speed and approaches to any given corner allowing for different vehicles, driving styles and driver abilities

Max x2 Default Track Limit points before receiving a DT

2 dropped rounds are allowed - we know life gets in the way so it is ok to miss a couple of rounds but make sure you sign out at least 1 minute before the race starts

If you cannot get onto SG in time just let one of the LMU admins know via Discord/text/carrier pigeon and we will sign you out without you incurring a penalty

If you do not sign out you will receive a 10 championship point reduction

We will let you do it twice without signing out but do it again and you will be disqualified from the championship

"For each race all cars will be fitted with a forward facing rocket launcher and one unguided rocket"

... thank you for reading but the bit about the rocket launcher was a joke #dBAD
